Amy Leeder Signs To
Wymer Records
Bedford’s, and arguably Britain’s, most dynamic young singer songwriter, 18 year old Amy Leeder, signed her first recording contract on 26th July, with Wymer Records.
Wymer Records boss Jerry Bloom said, “we have broken with tradition. We normally only sign established artists but I have been aware of Amy for a couple of years, and was hugely impressed with her
talent.”
Bloom went on to say, “it can always be a risk signing new artists, but we are confident that Amy can establish herself in the cutthroat music business. The X Factor may draw attention to some fine singers, but how often do great song writers emerge? It really is about the quality of the songs and Amy has them in abundance. She has been writing songs since the age of 12 and when you hear something like ‘Chavs Of 2023’, which Amy wrote when she was only 14, it resonantes with all age groups, which is a rare talent to find in any song
writer.”
Amy, who simply said, “the feeling is amazing”, is currently recording her debut album, ‘Fisticuffs With Cupid’, with producer and engineer Caroline Adcock for release later in the year. It will be launched with a special gig at Esquires where everyone will have the opportunity to buy the album in advance of the general release date, for a special price.
In between recording sessions Amy is also gigging and details of upcoming concerts can be found on her Facebook
